Nick & Amber - Dunbar Cave Surprise Engagement - Clarksville, TN

Dunbar Cave State Park is a beautiful place to have an engagement shoot. The park is home to a variety of natural features, including a cave, towering rock walls, a lake surrounded by a walking path, and several wooded trails. These features provide a variety of backdrops for your photos, and the park's peaceful atmosphere is perfect for capturing the love between you and your partner.

I was lucky enough to be invited by Nick for not only a couples shoot between him and his girlfriend, Amber, but what was intended to be a surprise engagement shoot. I started by keeping things casual with simply holding a light hearted conversation with the couple, and snapping a few pictures as they walked side by side. From there, I continued to keep things light and casual with some easy posing. Nothing fancy, just a few poses that felt natural and genuine. All I had to do was find the right moments to click the shutter button.

Afterwards, we were ready for the big moment. I found a nice spot by the lake, and gave Nick the nod that I was ready whenever he would be. I told Amber that I had an idea for a shot, and positioned her with her back to Nick. Once I backed up a few feet, I asked her to turn around. As she turned around, there was Nick on bended knee. "Yes" soon followed, after a few tears of course.

It was an absolute honor to be a part of such a beautiful and intimate moment. There are no do-overs with a moment like this, and it was such a privilege to be entrusted with capturing it. I will never forget it, and I hope the pictures help them with reliving that day for years to come.
